COMMUNITY SERVICE OBJECTIVES

My Pride List
List experiences from your past that are positive for you. These are things that you are proud of, that make you feel
energized as you recall them (aim for at least 5 experiences describe them and be as detailed and specific as you
can feel free to go above this!). Include your earliest memories. They can be anything from building a house to
drawing a picture or running a race. It only matters how you feel about it. Write a short story about one of your
favorite experiences.
1. When I was in elementary school, I painted a picture and it was selected to be in an art show
2. When I was 10, I won an award for being in the top 5 swimmers who cut the most time off their swimming
3. I scored a hat trick (3 goals) in one soccer game
4. In 5th grade I got a 508 on my math SOL and my teacher was so proud of me that she told me my score
before anyone else knew theirs
5. I was on AB honor roll 4 years in a row

One of my favorite experiences in life was when I was about 8, I was swimming the IM for the first time. When
I jumped in the water, I choked and was having a really hard time finishing the race. I was crying and was
struggling. The whole crowd then started to cheer for me and I eventually finished the race to a standing
ovation. The event was later put in the Roanoke times. Even though its embarrassing, im still proud that I at
least finished the race.
