When contact is made, the Barrel, is cammed dawnward and unlocked from the Slige. The Barrel Is stopped on the Cam but the inertia imparted to the Slide cartes ie to the feat. In maving to the rear the Slide extracts the empty cartridge. overrides and eocks the Hammer, compresses the Mala spring and Recoil Spring and finaly ejects the empty catidge from against the Ejecton. In moving forward by action of the com: pressed Recoil Spring, the Slide picks up 2 few cartridge fom the Magazine and char bers it. Approximately 3/16 inch from the Slide being completely forward, a everse 2etlon occurs on the Barrel Cam. SLIDE AND FRAME DISASSEMBLY With the pistol completely essembled depress the Magazine Latch and remove the Magazine Holding the pistol in the ight hand, push the Slide Assembly to the rear ‘and lock it there by engaaing the Safety inthe center recess cn the left Side of the Slide, See Figure #1 Hold the rear end ofthe Slide Stop ‘upward with the thumb of the eft hand and withthe index finger of the right, push the pln of the Slide Stop parially through the Frame. See Figure #2, Lay the pistol ot its right side and semove the Slide Stop by iting It straight out using both hands NOTE: ise care not to scratch the Slide with the sharp comer on the rear end of the Slide Stop, With the Slide in the Ieft hand and the crip in the sah, apply slight rearward pressure on the Sle and rotate the Safety downward withthe right chum FRemoue the Slice by slomly leting it move forward and off the Frame, CAUTION: Use care not 19 let the Slide Assembly release frorn your grasp, 3. BARREL DISASSEMBLY Hold the Slide in the inverted postion in the left hand. With the sight hand ‘compress the Recoil Spring with the Recoil Spring Guide and remove both pieces See Figure #3.
