Reflection on my Practicum experience

This is my last narrative about my Practicum experience. During each of the lessons that I
had to teach, I had been able to learn a lot about children, their behaviour, their minds,
their dreams, and whatnot.
My greatest challenge during my Practicum was the fact of being in front of a childrens
class for the very first time. At first I was worried about their behaviour, I wondered if I
had enough skills to face what was coming, but in the end, I think that I could handle it
successfully.
There were not any serious problems during my lessons, despite of some cases of
bullying in which the teacher helped me to deal with, I could say that I have been lucky.
The area that I had to improve, for instance, was the fact that I tended to use Spanish
when children could not get what I was asking for; and in some cases, the management of
time, it took me some lessons to overcome these issues.
The class that I enjoyed the most was the one in which we did the intercultural project
with Jasmine. The children were really astonished with the idea of having an English
person in the class, they participated enthusiastically, asked a lot of questions, and were
respectful with our guest. I could observe that they were really motivated, I liked how
they enjoyed the lesson.
As regards the team work, I would say that it was useful to have a pedagogical partner, it
helps you to have a deeper control of the situations that may occur.
The feelings as regards my Practicum were the same in the beginning and end of it. I felt
excited, happy, and satisfied with the idea of becoming a teacher.
I felt comfortable when the teachers observed us, they gave us useful advices which I
tried to apply in every lesson. Their guidance helped me plenty.
All in all, I would say that I feel prepared to teach at primary school now!
