1. Define density.

-Density is mass per unit of volume.

s.i unit - (kg/m3)
2. -(kg/L)
-(g/mL)
-(t/m3)
3. Define Specific Gravity of liquid.
-The ratio of the density if the substance to the density of water at a specified temperature.
4. Is density of liquid is constant?
-Yes.
5. How does a hydrometer measure density?

-Principle Operation of the hydrometer is based on [Archimedes' principle] that a solid

suspended in a fluid is buoyed by a force equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the
submerged part of the suspended solid. Thus, the lower the density of the substance, the
farther the hydrometer sinks. Thus, it is based on the principle of floatation.

6. How does hydrostatic pressure relate to density?

- Hydrostatic pressure is the pressure that is generated by the weight of liquid above a
measurement point, when the liquid is at rest. The height of a liquid column, of uniform
density, is directly proportional to the hydrostatic pressure.
7. What are the densities measuring instruments used in this plant?
-Transducer.
8. Name some other density measurement method, besides the differential pressure method
shown
-Pycnometer method
9. The site calibration is carried out in this experiment. Is the calibration of pressure
transmitter necessary?
-pressure transmitter may be necessary to meet measurement requirements when the
application of the transmitter changes.
10. Discuss briefly the possible errors affecting the accuracy in pressure/density measurement
as observed in the experiment.
-Systematic error. The external condition such as temperature a=can introduce systematics
error which is affect the accuracy of a set of measurement.
