The purpose of this document is to outline the steps required to replace the former (HydraForce)
steering mode selector valve with the updated (Argo-Hytos) steering mode selector valve.

STEP 1 - With unit parked on flat stable ground, open


the hood.

STEP 2 - Remove the operator compartment steering valve


cover bolts (x9) and set cover and bolts aside for
reinstallation at a later step. Fig. FI101

TO ENSURE HOSES/CABLES ARE TIED UP AND
ARE OUT OF THE WAY. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY

STEP 6 - Mark & drill/cut the 2x 8" and

Fig. FI101 1x 1 2 " holes in the operators compartment
as shown in diagrams below: (SEE WARNING
STEP 3 - Remove the control knob and collar from the INFORMATION AT STEP 12)

screw and the 2 set screws from the knob.
Discard these parts.

STEP 4 - Mark/Tag the 4 hydraulic lines as shown for later compartment
connection to Argo-Hytos valve assembly:

STEP 5 - Detach the hydraulic lines from the valve and 1
remove the valve/bracket from the operators 1 2 in
compartment by removing the 2x bolts as
shown: (Fig. FI103)

STEP 7 - Install 4x fittings into valve base as STEP 10 - Install rubber dust boot into

1 2 " hole
shown Fig. FI104. cut in step 6.
Fittings: 002H179 - FITTING, #6 MORB - #6 MJIC ELBOW 90DEG
STEP 11 - Use channel-lock or vise-grip pliers to
remove the plastic control knob from the
lever stem. Fig. FI107.

STEP 12 - With the valve, base w/fittings , and bracket all


assembled, mount assembly to operators

compartment using 3x ea. 4 "UNC x 1" HHCS and
1
4" lockwashers. Re-install control lever knob. Fig. FI107.

Note: : Control lever must be centered into hole in operator

compartment 8 ". Make adjustments as necessary to achieve

Fig. FI104 concentricity. Failure to do so will result in malfunction.

STEP 8 - Mount the valve base to the bracket as

shown using 2x ea. 4 UNC x 1" SHCS and
1
4 UNC nuts. Use Loctite thread locker compound
to secure nuts. Fig. FI105.

Note: Observe orientation of valve ports below:

Ensure that control lever will fully engage

! in each of the 3 positions. Make adjustments


if necessary. Failure to do so may result in
undesired function while in operation.

STEP 9 - Mount the valve assembly to the base as shown Hose #1 to port fitting "P" (HOSE 002K066)

using 4x ea. 10-24 x 1 2 " Socket head machine Hose #2 to port fitting "B" (HOSE 002K056)
screws and #10 hi-collar washers. Fig. FI106. Hose #3 to port fitting "T" (HOSE 002K087 ST)

Note: Align dowel hole in valve assembly with dowel (HOSE 002K088 LT)
hole in base. Orientate as shown: Hose #4 to port fitting "A" (HOSE 002K090 ST)

STEP 14 - Test the valve functions and ensure that


there are no leaks.

STEP 15 - Re-install the operators compartment


steering valve cover that was removed
in step 2

STEP 16 - Remove the original steer mode graphics &


warning information plate and replace with
the updated/resized steer mode graphic &
information plate. "Front" steering graphic
should be centered above the valve control
lever as shown: Fig. FI108

STEP 17 - Install the "blank" cover plate as shown


to seal the compartment. Fig. FI108
