Abstract
Al-Kashf wa-l-bay n an tafs r al-Qur' n or Tafs r al-
Thalabi is a classical and one of the most famous Sunni Qur' n
exegeses authored by the 11th century Islamic scholar A mad b.
Mu ammad al- Thalabi (died 427 AH?). It is one of those early
commentaries which had a profound impact on the following
Qur' nic exegetical literature. This article provides a brief
introduction of Im m al- Thalab and critically reviews the
style, methodology, used sources and impact of his work on the
subsequent commentaries.
