conventional fuel meets Tier III, hence need additional post treatment (e.g. SCR).
LNG fuelled engines will likely be approved as Tier-III equivalent measure

The story of LNG fuelled ships started in 2000
The pilot project, Glutra, was the first LNG fuelled ship in the world that was not a
LNG carrier with steam turbine. The ferry was delivered from the Langsten Yard in
Norway in January 2000.
