ACHIEVEMENTS OF ISRO

ISRO was established in 1969. Since then this esteemed organization has made India proud on many
occasions. To begin with in October 2008 ISRO launched Chandrayaan-1 (Indias lunar exploration
program) which made the stunning discovery of water on Moon.

Further, in September 2014 Mars Orbiter Mission dubbed as Mangalyaan successfully entered the
martian orbit in its maiden attempt, making India the first country in the world to successfully complete
the maiden mars mission, and also the 4th country to successfully venture into Mars

In April 2016 India came up with its very own Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) which
is a constellation of 7 satellites also called NAVIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation). With its launch ,
India has become one of the elite countries to have its own Navigation system.

Recently on 15th February 2017, India broke Russias world record by launching 104 satellites in multiple
orbits at once. Of these104 satellites 96 belonged to the US, 3 from India and 1 each from Kazakhstan,
the UAE, Switzerland, Israel and the Netherlands which shows that even the developed nations are
dependent on India. Moreover, the launch was made at a cost of 100 crore rupees which is the lowest
around the globe, thereby making India the most preferred nation for such launching. Further, these
achievements have raised the Indian share in the Space industry from just 4% in the past to 12%, which
is a big leap.

Thus, we see that the young minds of the Indian subcontinent have worked wonders and many more
are on the charts to pace up the process of development in the coming years.
