Emergency Sub Plan for Mrs.

Browning

Hello Substitute teacher!

I have a paraprofessional named Mrs. that is here in the morning. I have another paraprofessional
named Ms. that you may see in the morning also, expect she will go straight to help kindergarten
and other gen ed. classes throughout the morning, so you may not see her for most of the time she is
there. I have a third paraprofessional that doesnt come in until 11:30, named Mrs. . Both Mrs.
and Mrs. can help you with any questions that you may have.

Materials: I have laid out the workbooks out for you near this sub plan on my desk. These will be different
from what the students usually work on so they will most likely be more engaged for you. I will let you know
which workbook to use for each of the students.

8:45-9:30: Bodie and Taygen. Use the red reading workbook and have them work on pages 11,15, 18, and
12. They will be working on answering comprehension questions. Have them take turns reading the story
then answer the comprehension questions together. If they work hard, tell them that for the last 5 minutes
they can play cool math games on the IPads.

9:30-10:00: Patrick. All I can say is good luck! Be aware that sometimes Patrick will come in a bad mood
unwilling to work. For him, I would like you to play a baseball word game that helps him with his reading
decoding. This will most likely help him to be in the mood to work since he loves this game. Tell him if he is
good that you can play memory for the last 5 minutes.

10:00-10:30: Bodie and Madison. Use the green math workbook and have them work on pages 11,15, 18,
and 12. They will be working on subtraction. They can be independently working but once they are done
with each section, have them ask you to check their work before they can go on.

10:30-11:00: Rose and Caleb. Use the blue math workbook. They are working on addition. Rose struggles
with completing addition in her head so encourage her to use tallies to help her solve or counting on her
fingers. Caleb is good at working by himself but can make mistakes if he is not careful, so be sure to have
him have you double check his work.

Take your lunch break between these times if you havent already.

12:15-12:45: Lily. Have Lily read the story for you in her purple reading book. She will know where her
purple reading book is, it is in her cubby. After ask Lily what the setting, main plot, and main characters in
the story were. You may have to go look back in her book to help her find the answer. Then work on
sounding out the list of words on the next page after the story in her book.

12:45-1:15: Patrick. Do a Geometry (as he likes to call it) lesson with Patrick. It is in the red book on page
117 on lesson 34. It is pretty simple, just read the blue text to him. Patrick has a workbook to go along that
he may have to take out later. Be sure to help Patrick out, since this is still hard for him

1:30-2:15: Caleb and Wyatt. Take out the blue reading book and turn to page 16. Have them take turns
reading the story then answer the comprehension questions together. If there is extra time they may play
cool math games on the IPads.

After 2:15, you are all done!
