PROJECT SPACE WRITING PROMPT:

In the Project Space progression, weve discussed how society has shaped our identities.
Specifically in our readings, weve discussed everything from how our identities are
shaped by the people who surround us to how our culture/environment pressures us to
conform. In 4-6 pages (not including the Works Cited page), write an argumentative
essay on some way in which space shapes identity. Using sources, state your
interpretation, give your support, and back it up with any proof from at least 3 sources,
whether they be from our readings to articles you found in your own research. You must
use at least 1 quote from each source. You should be able to write an essay that answers
the following question:

To what extent has space shaped an aspect of identities, whether it be to conform or,
to be performative?

An eye on visual rhetoric: Because of the medium in which you are presenting your
essays, aka your web pages, I want you to use different visual and/or audio styles within
your essay. You are required to insert at least two visual or audio clips within your essay.
Like your evidence, it needs to be embedded into your argument and help prove your
claim. You dont have to explain it, unless there is another interpretation for this
multimodal source.

Essay Requirements: MLA format with a Works Cited page, at least 3 sources, at
least 2 multimodal sources, Times New Roman, 12-point font, Double spaced, 4-6
pages (1200-1950 words).
