Ms. Reisch Class #_2_ Date 12/25/2016 Lyddie Should Not Sign The Petition [As a 14 year old girl Lyddie should not sign the petition because she needs to pay off the Debt and she needs to support the family.tn the book Lyddie, Lyddie work in a factory and she has to make ‘money to send to her family but she work every day and then she want to get to farm back too. But then Lyddie does not know ifshe want to sign the petition or she should not sign the petition If Lyddie signs she might not gether job back she might got fied and If she does sign she think she will not get much money lke she does now.Lyddie should not sign the petition because she needs the money to support hey family and she needs to pay off family debs. i Lyddie should not sign the petition because she has a family that she needs to take care of IF Lyddie want to bring the rest ofthe family back together she has to pay the Debt first. page 96 that "Lam saving most of my wages for Debt. 1am working hard and making good paid." (Patterson 96page). This supports my quote because Lyddie is trying to save money to paid off Debt and atthe same time sent money to her mom to take care of Rachel.Lyddie, Diana and Betsy are talking about about the petition and Beisy really does net care of keeping her job that why she is going to sign the petition but Lyédie does not want her fo. "What will you be blacklisted. No other corporation would hire you, “Oh,” said Betsy, "maybe I'd just take off West, I've nearly the money.” She smiled siyly at Lyddie” f'm thinking of giving out to Ohio." (Patterson 92 page). Lyddie can not be blacklisted because then she will have no money to give to her mom and pay off Deb.Lyddie is being hard on her seif to make money to bring the family back together. On page 88 "She must work harder. She must earn all the money to pay what she owed." (Patterson 88 page). These three examples supports the claims?because Lyddie needs to work hharder Fike she said, and Lyddie does not want to get blacklisted and that she needs to paid off Debt. Lyddie needs to keep her job to support her family and if she get blacklisted she will have no money to support her family. Lyddie makes more money at the factory than atthe tavern.Lyddie makes more money at the factory than atthe tavern but then she does not want to lose her job cause she makes more money there.lf she is blacklisted she will not have a fot of money then the tavern. "I'm thinking of you. What you do with no job? You be blacklisted, No other corporation would hire you." (Patterson 92 page Js supports because she is thinking about how she might lose her job and she make more money at the factory then the tavern.Belsy was trying to tell Lyddie that if she work ten hours more they will get paid less."But we'd be pain less. Coulda't Betsy understand that? If we just work fen hours, we'd be paid much less." good evidine (Patterson 91 page )This support my claim because Betsy was trying to tell Lyddie that she will gt paid Jess if'she work more-Lyddie trying to suid that she make more at the factory then the tavern.Atthe inn T ppd worked sometimes fiNteen, sixteen hours a day and they paid my mother fifty cents a week, if they rave remembered.” (Patterson 93 That made a lot more atthe factory then the tavern and sometime they forget Na to pay hge-om sometimes.Lyddie make more money atthe factory then the tavern, anitlys Wore tht ye nods money orig he amy bck ost ef ad she has to send moTe¥to her mom to and my other topic is that she has more money atthe factory then the traven.Lyddie should not sign the petition because she needs the money to support her family and she needs to pay off family One is that Lyddie still should not sign the petition cause if she does ‘ goat Wyatt Name: CRITERIA, cols 4 Essays at this level: Essaysat 2 Essays at tis level: 1 Essays at this level: 0 fissays at this level Content and Analysis: the extent to which the essay conveys complex ideas and information clearly and accurately in order to support dams in an analysis oftopies or texts w2 Ri8 Clearly introduce a topic ina manner thats pose Demonstrate insightful analysis of the text(s) Je Chpaify introduce @ topicina manner that follows from the tale and purpose Demonstrate sgradeappropriate analysis ofthe and purpose Demonstrate literal comprehension of the rext(s) Introduce atopic ina understanding ofthe text(s) Demonstrate a lack of comprehension of the text(s) or task Command of Evidence: ‘Theextentto which the essay presents evidence from the provided texts to support analysis and reflection ws RL9 facts, definitions, eonerete etal, quotations, or formation and from the texe{s) Sustain the use of varied, relevant evidence *,“Bevelop the topic wi relevant facts, definitions, det ‘quotations, or other Information and ‘examples fromthe Partially develops the topic withthe use of some textual evidence, some of which may be irrelevant Use relevant evidence inconsistently Demonstratean attempt to use Provide no evidence fr provide evidence: thatis completely ierelevant Coherence, Organization, formal style and precise language appropriate and varied transitions to create a unified whole and enhance Establish and maintain Formal style, asing specific vocabulary with a notable sense of voice Provide a concluding statement or section that -ompelling and follows iy from the top formation presented Provide a concluding statement or section with inconsistent use of language and domain specific wocabulary Provide a concluding statement or section that follows generally attempts to organize are irrelovant o the task Lack formal styl language that is uprecise or inappropriate for the text(s) and task Provide concluding ‘or secon of organization Use language thats predominantly werent or copied iy from the text(s) Do not provides concluding statement or section Control of Conventions: the emonsteates command of the conventions of Bnglish prammar, use, Demonstrate {grade-appropriate coramand of conventions, ‘with few errors ‘© Déinonstrate grade / appropriate command Demonstrate emerging command of conventions, with some errors that may hinder ‘comprehension Demonstrate a lack of command of conventions with frequent errors that hinder comprehension ‘Are minimal, making assessment of conventions uneeliable
