In this sets of materials, both the reading passage and the lecture discuss about the problem of AIDS

in undeveloped countries. The author of the reading passage argues that the Drug Companies as a
business is the main problem. On the other hand, the lecture believes that pharmaceutic business
has the right to their own economic growth.

First, the author of the reading passages states that many Drug Companies have sold their
medicaments in high price, he observes that this is an immoral attitude. The lecture challenges this
allegations, by saying that those companies are a business as any other. He points out that drug
companies need profits and those profits would be used in researches.

Second, the author of the reading passage mentions that government in poor countries should buy
the medicines to obtain a lower price. The lecture contradicts this argument, by clamming that in
fact these countries are poor as the people who live within.

Third, the author of the reading passage refers to the fact that it should be allow to produce the
medicines in the poor countries to get a cheap AIDS medicines. He says that this industry could even
offer jobs to people in these countries. The Lecture cast doubts, by claiming that this fabrication is
illegal. He indicates that this could be very dangerous and those medicines could even kill people.
