Dear Mie Noabeins Al
Saudi Arabia is the biggest Information Technology market in the Gulf region and
the kingdom will continue to be a lucrative market for technological products and services
during coming years as it invests to upgrade its IT and communications infrastructure. Saudi
IT spending is estimated at USS 4.1bn in 2012, up 9% year-on-year. Youthful demographics
(60% population less than 30 years old) and a growing population which is expected to reach
30 milion by 2017 should drive demand as the Internet penetration is expected to rise to more
than 80% by 2016 from current 49%. Saudi Arabia is making heavy investments to improve
the infrastructure, education, healthcare, transport, energy and social services infrastructure —
and this should generate more opportunities for IT products and services. All major IT sector
companies of India such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL Technologies, 31 Infotech are operating
either directly or in joint venture with Saudi companies.
There is large number of young Saudis who are interested in establishing their own SMEs
in IT sector. These young Saudis have studied abroad and are adept in latest technology, are
aware of Indian prowess in this field, have knowledge of foreign investment and have
knowledge of working in foreign environment. If we can address this category we may find
‘some new investors for SoftwareTechnological Parks in India. Besides, STP! will also get first
hand information about the expectations of foreign investors from Saudi Arabia,
The Saudi Indian Business Network, an organization under the patronage of this
Consulate, has been set up with the objective of providing impetus to trade and investment in
India. The SIBN keeps organizing such functions for promoting investments in India. The
IBN is planning to organize a seminar on a theme “India- your best BPO partner’ on 28"
October 2013 in Jeddah.
'twill be great pleasure if you could be a key speaker at the function. | am sure the Saudi
and Indian entrepreneurs in Jeddah will benefit from your presentation and it will be a good
opportunity for STPI to project its accomplishments in the field of Information Technology in
India.
Ic Mow veel Yours sincerely,
iz Afuiad Kidwai)
