Alexander Hamilton Poem

My name is Alexander Hamilton

My exact birthday is unknown but it was around January
11th 1755-1757
I was born in poverty
On the island of Nevis, British West Indies
Which was a British colony
I was made with a bad women as a mom and a dad
who was only good at running away
Never did I think I would get a play of my life
I lived a happy life with a happy wife

His name was Alexander Hamilton

I put him as the nations first secretary of the treasury
But before that, he caught my attention while he was a
lieutenant colonel
He fought in the battles of Long Island, White plains, and
Trenton
I put him on a desk job, he grew to hate it
He convinced me to let him get a taste a battle just a bit
I let him go in 1781, where he won the Battle of Yorktown
From this lead to the Treaty of Paris between the U.S.
and Great Britain
He soon signed treaties once again
Two treaties signed at Versailles between France, Britain
and Spain

In 1755 I had a son with a Scottish man

He went to the store to get some ham
But never came back
Never did I think the boy that wasnt necessarily planned
would make it
When I died he was adopted by his rich cousin

I left Washington to study law

Once I completed a short apprentice and passed the bar
My first clients were British loyalists
Once British forces took control of New York State in
1776
Many rebels fled the area and British loyalists occupied
the abandoned homes and businesses
Once the Revolutionary War ended many rebels came
back and many sued the Loyalists for compensation
I protected the loyalists against the rebels

My great life ended on July 11th 1804 in Weehawken,

New Jersey
I was involved in a duel with a man named Aaron Burr
In our duel we both gave each other a shot but only
his hit
I was hurt quite a bit
I died on this day.
