A study on the characteristics of subsidence due to rock masses collapse

in abandoned mines

, 1)* 03

Abstract
The subsurface displacement monitoring is needed to predict subsidence and prevent disasters
caused by subsidence. To apply the underground measurement actually, monitoring points setting and
data analysis method should be improved. In this study, a numerical analysis was performed using a
section of the subsidence-occurred site. The reliability of numerical model was verified by comparing
the actual subsidence information and the results of analysis. With this verified numerical model, the
measurement point which has high predictability was found among the measurement points. With the
data analysis method using relative displacement variation rate, measured displacements due to rock
masses collapse have been analyzed.
