Businesses and consumers need to know their audience
demographics so they can sell and improve their products. Businesses tend to use quantitative data which is data which is number based and can be counted. For example heat magazine found out the gender split average age and marriage which turned at as follows; Gender split- 86% female/14% male Average age- 30 Marriage- 48% married/ 47% single. This then allows the business to know what kind of thing they need to do to entertaining them. Below is a table which is used to categorise the audience which is what companies use.
