Ambassador Fall 2017 Focus Group

Priority goal being supported Student Success & Graduation Initiative


Action Item Develop and implement a HPW Ambassador program of student peer
leaders to:
engage students across campus
build community to foster inclusiveness and social connection, which will assist
in promoting retention and graduation
disrupt conversations to address issues of social justice, equity, and inclusion,
and
promote health and wellness across the SF State community

1. What other trainings do you think would have helped you to feel more confident
while engaging with students across campus? (options: public speaking,
interactive tabling, more HPW background, other)
2. Describe your experience with the ambassador program requirements
(orientation, 4 hours/month, 2 Mix n Mingles). Were these requirements easy or
difficult to fulfill?
o Follow up: Do you recommend any adjustments to the requirements for
next semester?
3. What made you more likely to attending a monthly mix & mingle.

1. So far we offer HPW ambassador certifications, volunteer hours, and leadership
opportunities as benefits of joining our ambassador program. What other
incentives should we provide to encourage groups of students whom we havent
successfully reached?
