Have you read Brian Selznicks middle grade novel Wonderstruck?

Its now a movie! (It comes to Ritz Five on Thursday, 10/26.)

If you arent familiar with Brian Selznick, his work is fantastic. He

won the Caldecott Medal for his American historical fiction
steampunk book The Invention of Hugo Cabret. (The book is
amazing! And the movie, Hugo, based on the book is SO GOOD.)
Selznicks books are long - Wonderstruck weighs in at a hefty 630
pages - but his writing style and
GORGEOUS illustrations make the
pages fly by.

He also illustrated the book When Marian Sang, a picture

book about Philadelphia opera singer Marian Anderson.
It was written by Pam Muoz Ryan, whose books would
be a great addition to a classroom library!
