allnonPortuguesenationalswhousethataccommodation.Thislawhasbeenbroughtinto
forceinPortugalandmostotherEUcountriesatsomepointsincethegradual
implementationofthe1990SchengenAgreementthataimstostophumantraffickingand
otherillegalpractices.Inthiscase,itisspecificallyArticle45oftheSchengenAgreement
andtherecentAlojamentoLocallawinPortugalthathasbroughtthisruleintosharper
focus.
ThegoverningbodythatmonitorsthemovementofforeignersisSEF(Serviode
EstrangeiroseFronteirasortheImmigrationandBordersService).
