The Workbook
Hello lovely!

If you read my post How to Have an Effective Routine in College, then you
know that I am all about being productive and efficient! To help you make
time for everything in your busy life, I want to help you create an effective
college routine yourself! Below are a few steps that I think will guide you
through this routine making process. I would suggest that you read
through the worksheet then print it out so that you can actually put pen to
paper to create your own effective college routine!

1. Brain Dump:
-This is where you should write everything that you do daily as well as those
things that you should be doing but keep forgetting!

-Need help getting started? Answer these questions!

-What things do you already do daily? Ex. check emails, homework, class
-What other tasks should you be doing? Ex. reading through notes
-What college tasks do you need to get done? Ex. making notecards
-How can you plan ahead for tomorrow? -Ex. pack your backpack
-What do you need to do before going to class? -Ex. double check
backpack for class essentials

2. Make a timetable:
-When do you do your best work?
For most people, this is in the morning when your brain is fresh. If this is
you, you may want to consider scheduling at least one of your most difficult tasks in the
morning. This is going to require you to get up a little earlier!

-Morning
As I mentioned above, the morning is often the most productive time of
the day because your brain is fresh! Try using this time for tasks that you find most dif-
ficult or thought provoking! If you have a college paper to write, the morning would be
the perfect time to get it done! Personally, mornings are my favorite because the room is
quiet, there are few distractions, and I have time to think clearly!

-Midday
At this point in the day, youve likely lost energy from your morning cof-
fee high and thanks to the dullness of many college classes. This makes midday the per-
fect time to do those plain jane tasks like checking your emails, calling your family, hav-
ing your me time, and running errands if your class schedule permits. Personally, I
use this time to work on minute blogging tasks like scheduling tweets or preparing In-
stagram photos for the week. College related tasks that I do at this time include reading
through my class notes and doing easy, non-time-consuming homework.

-Evening
This time can be used for completing those tasks that need to get done ei-
ther tomorrow or (if you have time) even in advance for the week. I like to dedicate
evenings to difficult, time consuming homework that I cant get done in the mornings,
social activities, and preparing for the next school day! Things like studying in advance,
doing homework, creating notecards, and packing my backpack are perfect evening ac-
tivities!

-Create an outline of what your day should look like:

3. Make it flexible:
-Since college classes are different every day, you need a routine that can work
with each of those days. This is why you are going to need it to be flexible. Once you
have written down your daily tasks and have created a time table of when you should
do things take a look at it to see whether it is flexible enough to work for every day of
the week. If not, make a few adjustments! Fill in where your classes are and how much
time you have around each class. Determine how long your daily tasks require and plug
them into areas that fit those times.

-Practice area:
Use this space to create a mock outline of your college days (including
classes) and how much time you have between them to give yourself a visual. I dont
know about you, but Im a little messy with drafts! I would suggest using a pencil!

4. Put it together:
-Now that you have created a first version of your effective college routine, you
can fill it into this table below. This will give you a good timeline of what to do when
each day so that you are more productive and effective.

5. Test is out and make adjustments as needed:
-Once you have filled in your first draft of your effective college routine, its time
to test it out! Trying implementing this routine for a full week. Put a check mark by
things that worked for you and highlight things that could be changed. At the end of
the week, go back through your routine and make necessary changes. If you use your
new and improved routine the second week and still find a few trouble issues, dont be
afraid to make adjustments once again! It may take a few tries before its perfect!

6. Final effective college routine:
-Once you have finished adjusting your college routine, its time to plug it in and
put it to work! After that, I would suggest hanging your routine on the wall by your
desk or keeping it somewhere that you will always have it!

My hope is that this worksheet will help you to create the perfect college routine for you
so that you can have a successful and productive semester! If you have any questions
about how to implement this worksheet, dont hesitate to email me at
aslifegrows@gmail.com! I respond to any and all questions because I absolutely love
hearing from yall!

Bye lovely!

P.s. Im inserting a lot of free space here for more practice and so that your college rou-
tine is on a page all by itself to avoid distractions!
