I. TAX

1) Romans 13:6-7
For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this
very thing. Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear
to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
2) Matthew 22:17-21 - Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto
Caesar, or not?

3) Matthew 17:24-26
When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax came to Peter and
said, "Does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax?" He said, "Yes." And when he came into
the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the
kings of the earth collect customs or poll-tax, from their sons or from strangers?" When Peter
said, "From strangers," Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are exempt.
4) Luke 18:11
"The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other
people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

II. Blessings and Prosperity

III. Helping the poor and needy.

24) Acts 20:35


In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and
remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to
receive.

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger
and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in
prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see
you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and
welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit
you?

IV. Respect for the Authority(Government)

authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those
