Itwas great to see you I like how you used mathematics lesson and a Excellent! The video you found about Symmetry was wonderfull tt tuned students in well to the lesson and provided us with rich maths vocabulary such as “symmetrical” and "asymmetrical", which you used in your initial line of questioning “Ghd probing withthe Studer probing with the students. You then moved promptly into explaining today task. It wa] pest toate you made en example wih. de eden] and use this as an opportunity to clear up misconceptions about how we can make an image symmetrical. like how you were able to elicit a connection to our work on transformationsyliesslideslipianid tury: This is agood connection for students to make within their lesson as syminiatryis basically flipping shapes” ‘You explained the task clearly, however, as it had multiple steps, some students were a little unsure about what to Cd first. Therefore, it may be worthwhile/gving one'step instructions at therbeginning?to get the students started and to a certain point in the lesson, Once we had drawn the line of symmetry, the students were a little more clearer on what to expect and do. Your example and the image you put up on the board yelped students to visualise the ‘end’ point. The students were engaged in the task. There was a little chatter but nothing excessive and most discussion was focussed on the task and students sharing what they were doing and their plan for their picture. It was great to see you had presprepared resourcesisuch as attribute blocks, lprior to the lesson which means you were ready to hand these out promptly at ne beginning of the independent task. realy hed the of your lesson, You had wo components. TEGRIEWAK where students walked around to see each other's designs was wonderful. The students enjoy looking at each other's work and it helps to model positive examples of what to do. The dis¢ugsiof on the floor followed on nicely from the gallery walk and you were able to reiterate the learning intentions about symmetry. Well done! The maths lesson was very well-planned and flowed well. Congratulations on your planning and implementation. AETERNOON PROCESS You allowed a goad amount of time for the students to pack up and complete the Afternoon Process. This is another routine that you are gradually becoming familiar with. Obviously, when you have your own classroom and you've established the processes, then it would be second nature to you. Well done again on a great day. Po low LE jill Palermo
