Dear Review Board Members:

My name is Diamond Barnes. As a student here a Harding University High School, my

Senior Exit Project has provided me the opportunity to more in depthly learn about my topic. I
chose to research and understand The Death Penalty. But more importantly I decided to go
against this crucial punishment. This topic is a real concern and political debate in some states.

When I was about 10, I watched a movie called The Green Mile, this movie furthered
my interest on why the death penalty should be illegal worldwide. I say this because who is man
to play as God. So I decided to go into depth with my research and observe more closely on to
facts and reasons why some believe it should be a way to get rid of cruel criminals, and why
some believe it should not.

My thesis is The death penalty is a forbidden act and sin to some and should be banned
not only in the United States but worldwide. While researching and being observing I think that
there is way to get at least some of the states to stop this unwillingly act against criminals. I
honestly can understand how the family of a victim would feel if there loved was killed with no
remorse. But honestly ask yourself what are you getting out of having the state kill another
human being?
My product will be an extension of my research based paper because I wanted to get my
knowledge to get North Carolina to make execution illegal.

While doing my project, I learned that many people dont agree with it but it also brings
family justice. Also a lot of religions dont believe in killing another human being.

Again I want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to judge my senior exit.
