This is included in the total time allowed for Paper 1.
The extract will be played three times. For the first viewing, just watch.
You will watch the DVD extract for a second time. This time you will be allowed to make notes.

You will then be allowed 10 minutes to make further notes and to think about the answers to the

You will watch the extract for a third and final time.
You will be allowed the remaining time (approximately 1 hour 5 minutes, depending on the length

Daily Planet building. Superman comes to the rescue.

3. How important are merchandising tie-ins and spin-offs to the success of Superhero movie

4. Kapow Films have developed a new Superhero movie, New Dawn, based on a team of teenage
heroes known as The Purple People. You have been put in charge of developing the film into a
franchise to build on its success.

(a) Name and describe an item of tie-in merchandise for the new film. (3)

(b) Name and describe a spin-off TV series from the new film. (3)

(c) Design and annotate a poster for your TV series spin-off.
