CHAPTER 1

Project Overview

INTRODUCTION

Now-a-days in industries especially in automobile and other industries the

hydraumatic bending machines are widely used. Earlier the bending machine were

operated manually. So the output of the machine was very less. Now the technique of

bending operation of the component is changed.

The bending machine is one of the most important machine tools in sheet metal

work shop. It is primarily designed in such a way that it works automatically. The

automation strategy, when implemented is believe to result in reduce cycle time, cost and

improve product quality. Other possible advantages are repeatability, increase

productivity, reduce labor and integration of business system.

Hydraumatic bending machine is a mechanical and electrical integration,

automatic equipment, this article will complete the design of the following three first

mechanical structure is based on bending bar processing technology, with reference to

international advance automatic bending machine, and on this basis, reform and

innovation.

First, Mechanical structure design, including bending mechanism design, cutting

mechanism design, the design of feeding structures, docking mechanism design,

organization design and measuring the length bin and rack design.
Second, electrical design. Electrical design is the basis of the whole control

system, including the electrical circuit design, servo system design and debugging to the

ideals of the state, In the circuit equipment design is not only working and the facilities,

but also add the prevention and protection measures to effectively to avoid the process

of debugging and the use of equipment damage and personal injury.

Third, program writing and debugging. This section contains two parts, of graphical

interface, user friendly operation; the other is motion control card, through the precise

control of the servo motor and the cylinder with the movement to achieve the desire

bending quality. In debugging process to solve other advanced automatic bending

machine exists an acute angle and the arc bending problem of a hollow glass form a rich,

successful resolution of Alpha scope avoidance, and feeding accuracy, and improving the

yield.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

For manually operated press the cost of the minimum size machine for bending is

approximately around. Metal, tube, pipes and sheet steel is hardly to bend. The manual

bending is converted into automatic machine by which maximum operating time will be

saved. Thus the output will be more. In this project the human intervention is for loading

and unloading the plate. It may be called as semiautomatic machine. This machine can

be converted into a fully automatic machine where loading and unloading of the steel can

be done automatically.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY


This study will be a significant in making or creating bending metals automatically.

Its importance is to improve bending machine production efficiency and to transform the

overall appearance to automatic bending machine more attractive. It is also benefits to

the students which the results of this project study will have great benefits them which is

more exposed to advance technology. And for future researcher this project study can

serve as one of the causes to conduct other studies in similar or related studies. The data

and findings of this study can be use by future researchers as one of their resources.

SCOPE AND DELIMANATION OF THE PROJECT

The Hydraumatic Bending Machine is strong experience of the technologies.

Obtain with automatic system, I decided to transfer these advantages into the manual

bending machine project, giving birth to the automatic bending.

In the new system of Hydraumatic bending machine, where the panel is held still

and only one bending side in moved, by taking to just one stressing point on the sheet.

Automatic bending machine can perform these bend just using standard tool.

This project can help to easily to contract the design and operated building at

Urdaneta City University.

Research Methodology

In this project, researcher will use different method of gathering to collect data in

order to come up with essential form of data and information to upgrade the manual

machine into the automatic ways.


The researcher use internet, books, and other resource to gather more data and

information. Other researcher also gather information using the existing titles of the past

student of engineering department.
