Child labor
Child labor is a big debate that many people argue about, should children be working
under age or not ? Children should be working at a young age. some children feel that they have
to get it on they own they need extra money or their parents feel the same way. I agree child
labor can be both good and bad , bad because children were missing days from school and really
need education. But they have to have money to survive. Although opponents claim child
labor should be stopped, child labor should not be stopped because some people have
children they have children at a young age that they have to provide for, children have poor
families so they have to get money on their own, lastly majority of the youth can't depend
Majority of the youth cannot depend on their parents at a financial state. Even though
students were missing some days of school they were most of the time taking care of themselves
or needed money for important things for themselves. The evidence above means child labor is
always great for kids under age that wants to work not only because they want to but because
some children really do need it.Most people disagree because of they are missing education but
there is plenty other ways for them to get the education that they need they may need to be
working to feed themselves also. The commonwealth's current Child Labor Act has several
inconsistencies as well as many archaic provisions that are both unnecessary and contradictory,
stemming from the fact that the law was written in 1915. It is safe to say that the work
environment for our minors has changed dramatically since child labor laws were originally
written in Pennsylvania (Delozier). What this is saying is that laws have changed to where when

children feel like they are mature and mindset is ready with the permission of their parents
Some children have children at a young age.Children have children at a young and have
to provide for themselves and their children. Food , clothing, money would be needed and they
would have to work for that on their own to live. Also keep in mind that when you have a child
when you are still just a child yourself then now if your parents don't help you have you and
another little life to look after. Furthermore when you are just starting out as a new young single
parent you don't know a lot about being a parent but if you can work to take care of your child
that you laid down and gave birth to even at a young age i believe that the government should
not have a problem with it. Child labor is not a bad thing as long as it is not abused.
The graph below is showing how the children in child labour are working at a young age
Children might have grew up in a less fortunate household. They may have no money or
their parents so they have to work to help their family as well as the baby. In most households
there are single parents who are raising a child it's hard for them to keep up with the things they
need but for their child to go out and make another child makes it even harder. This is why them
getting a job can help them in more than just one way it can help them try to stay financially
stable and also teach them responsibility all at the same time. Fathima was a 14-year-old factory
worker contributing meaningfully to her family and to her own advancement when well-meaning
foreigners intervened to ensure that she was 'protected' from the job that had been changing her
life.(What's the world against child labor). This is just an example to back up the claim i made

that children girl or boy working can be a great asset to their family and help pick up the slack
that their parents cannot do. One last thing that i wanted to bring up was that as long as the
working does not affect their body and they know how to manage it they will be fine.
People argue that children are missing education by working. And in part because they
frequently end up making life worse for the very children they're supposed to be helping"
(Opendemocracy.net). In this article, the author argues that mainstream approaches to anti-child
labor campaigns do not address the needs of vulnerable children and ultimately worsen their
lives. (What's wrong with the world day against child labour). This is saying that when children
work they might try to take advantage of them because they are young and all they are thinking
about is making money is their eyes. The study found that the brick kilns lack daycare and
sanitation facilities; they were deprived of education and adolescents were also found engaged in
the bad habit of smoking and consuming alcohol.(Stop child labour). Studies have shown that
children who were working was not learning like that because they really didn't have time to
study and were not focused in school because they were most likely tired.Child labour is work
that is prohibited for children of a certain age group. It is the work performed by children who
are under the minimum age legally specified for that kind of work, or work, because of its
(Dudley) They are saying that it should be prohibited for children of a certain age to work and in
their eyes it is very unacceptable. They believe children should be focused on school and
growing into a better person instead of worrying about working to help support
themselves.Protecting children from abuse is an important human right development goal. Child
labour has no place in a well-functioning society. (Dudley)Some believe that child labour is a
sign of abuse because it makes the children grow up way too fast and force them to take on

responsibility they are not even ready for. The message that we must act now to stop child labour
has been affirmed by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We can make the world a better
place without child labour.(Dudley) If we get rid of child labour they believe that igt would make
the world a better place. Child labor can harm some of the children because of the dangerous
work they're doing. Some jobs that children might want to go out and get can do physical harm
to their body. For example let's say a child works at a fast food restaurant and works on the grill
and accidentally burn themselves or cut himself then the parents are going to want to sue that
eating place but if the parent would have never let the child get the job they wouldn't have to be
worried about risk taken such as those.Bostwick and his wife, Wendy, want Congress to reject a
bill that would change the federal child labor law to allow 16- and 17-year-olds to operate
supervision.
The bill, called the Future Logging Careers Act, has unanimous backing from Idaho's all-
Republican congressional delegation, which says the measure would give a head start to kids
"Obviously that was a tragic situation, but somebody who does want to get into logging can and
should be supervised by their parents," Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho, the bill's chief sponsor, said in
an interview. "If a child is going to go into logging, what better way than to start with your
family and having your family teach it to you?"(Hotakainen). This is a situation that helps to
show why they believe children that are underage should not be able to work especially if they
do not know what they are doing because it can lead to sickness injury and even in some cases
death. "It is a tough sale for people that look back in history as to why the law was established in
the first place--it was to prevent exploitation of children, particularly in factories," said Shawn
Keough, an Idaho Republican state senator who's the executive director of the Associated
Logging Contractors Inc. of Idaho, which represents 448 logging and wood products hauling

businesses. "We get that, and we respect that history. But today, if you look at many of our
logging operations in Idaho and across the country, we're more likely to mechanized, and what
that means is our folks are in a machine, in an enclosed cab, so it's a lot less dangerous than even
15 or 20 years ago."(Hotakainen). They are saying they know it's going to be tough to change the
law but believe they are correct in the claim that they are making.
