How To Register Host HBA Initiators Manually in A CX Clariion Array
Product:
CLARiiON
Description:
Manually register a host HBA with a CLARiiON array using Navisphere Manager and CLI
6.4
Resolution:
From the Storage tab of the Enterprise Storage dialog box, navigate to the icon
for the storage system for which you want to monitor or configure the connectivity
status, and select Connectivity Status.
Click Register from Connectivity Status and specify both and IP address and
hostname.
Register the first record.
Click "Update Now" from the tree to ensure that a valid HostID is on the client
side.
Register the remaining records using the Register dialog.
Use the CLI storagegroup -setpath -hostname <host> | -ip <IP_address> command to
assign a Storage Group to a specific HBA in a host where
-hostname <host> specifies the HBA owner's hostname. The storage system will
use the hostname (or IP address, below) for any subsequent storagegroup
-connecthost and -disconnecthost commands that you issue. If you omit this, the
storage system uses the HBAUID.
OR
-ip <IP_address> specifies the HBA owners IP address (that is, the servers
IP address). See -hostname above.
Warning! Do not use the Navisphere 6.4 Group Edit feature to manually register
initiators.
