Jessica Silver
The Situation
At 17 years old, I was one of the four students out of 362 in my grade, that gave a speech at
graduation. I received this honor from being the Head Council President during my senior year
of high school.
Where
I spoke at my graduation from Mayfield High School. However, our graduation took place at
the Palace Theater which is part of Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland,
When
My speech took place in June of 2014 and was approximately 4 minutes long. However,
preparation for the delivery of it took about two months.
My Specific Role
As the Head Council President, I was given the task to write a speech addressing the topic of
“the future” of our graduating class, and life after graduation. This speech was meant to make
my peers think about their future and be excited for life after graduation.
Actual Results
I delivered the speech successfully and was told by many of my peers that the speech was very
enjoyable. I received a round of applause from the audience.
