Caramel cake

maida - 1 cup
baking powder - 1 tsp
baking soda - 1 tsp
sift the above together

butter (softened at room temperature) - 100 gm (or so I think)


powdered sugar - 0.5 cup
beat well

5 eggs
whip until more than twiced the volume

alternately add the egg mixture and the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture.

meanwhile, carmelise 0.5 cup granulated sugar. once it is nice and brown, add 1 cup
of hot water to it and keep aside to cool.

once the caramel is cool, add to the batter.

preheat oven at 180 c. bake the cake at 170 c for 30 to 45 mins.
