This article focuses on a qualitative study about students as they interact

with the process of historical empathy. A group of high school students used the
example of Harry Trumans decision to deploy atomic bombs at the end of World
War II to further understand historical empathy. The results showed that modern
perspectives as well as identification, influence students and shared human
experiences. In conclusion, the point of the article is to find historical
understanding. The author wants to create more appreciation for the past.
