Puget Sound area, Washington

Washington officials have reported 555 fatal cases of human infection the new disease. According to
local authorities, all patients were admitted to area hospitals where they passed away with a week.
According to hospital physicians, all patients were treated in isolation.

Doctors in the area stated that handling cases of this disease is very difficult and time-consuming.
Because the disease is so deadly, patients respond to medical treatment poorly and there are no
reported survivors. Due to the nature of their symptoms and the novelty of the disease, admission to
a hospital is often delayed and death is inevitable.

San Francisco, California

Newberry officials are reporting 147 humans infected with the new disease. Samples have been
identified via genome analysis and antibody testing. All infected patients were admitted to the
hospital, and all but one has died.

San Diego, California

39-year-old male, non-healthcare worker, currently admitted to ICU, no history of pre-existing

conditions, no history of animal exposure, no history of contact with suspected or confirmed case in
hospital/clinic, no history of contact with suspected or confirmed case in the community.

Los Angeles, California

L.A. officials have reported 212 fatal cases of human infection the new disease. All patients were
treated in isolation, and agent was identified via antibody testing.
