Generally, the relationship between wind velocity and pressure is:

P = 0.003V 2
Building higher then 40 stories are necessary to be designed by wind
tunnel test,
In india we have codes for sesmic and wind design.
Sesmic design :- IS 1893:1984 Criteria for Earthquake Resistant Design of
Structures

Part 2 : Liquid Retaining Tanks Elevated and Ground Supported

Part 3 : Bridges and Retaining Walls

Part 4 : Industrial Structures Including Stack Like Structures

Part 5 : Dams and Embankments

Some important terms
Critical damping The damping beyond which the free vibration
motion will not be oscillatory.
Spectral acceleration (SA) is measured in g (g is acceleration due to
Earth's gravity) that describes the maximum acceleration in an
earthquake on an object specifically a damped, harmonic oscillator
moving in one physical dimension.
Design Acceleration Spectrum Design acceleration spectrum refers to
an average smoothened plot of maximum acceleration as a function
of frequency or time period of vibration for a specified damping ratio
for earthquake excitations at the base of a single degree of freedom
system.

Design Basis Earthquake ( DBE )It is the earthquake which can

reasonably be expected to occur at least once during the design life of
the structure

Floor Response Spectra Floor response spectra is the response spectra

for a time history motion of a floor. This floor motion time history is
obtained by an analysis of multi-storey building for appropriate
material damping values subjected to a specified earthquake motion at
the base of structure.
