Shielding effectiveness
Shielding effectiveness (SE) over the frequency range from 100 MHz up to 10 GHz, covering the frequency bands
for:
- radio broadcasting (100 MHz band)
- TV broadcasting (up to 800 MHz)
- mobile phone (GSM and 3G / 4G: 450 MHz, 900 MHz and1800 2100 MHz)
- Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band)
Conclusion
As a conclusion, it can be stated that both can be defined as providing 20-30 dB Shielding Efficiency (SE) over
the frequency range from 200 MHz up to 4 GHz, and this both the weft and warp direction. Above 4GHz, the SE
starts to decay to about 10dB. Note that a SE of 10dB, 20dB and 30dB correspond with a shielding percentage
for the E and/or H-field of 68%, 90% and 97%, respectively. This frequency ranges covers broadcast
frequencies, the different mobile phone frequency channels and applications and the Wi-Fi frequency bands.

Test reports of shielding effectiveness of NESA WINDOW film and fabric is tested according to ASTMD 4935,
standard test method for measuring the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of planar materials.

Conclusion - Nesa window films are of EMI reflecting type and not absorbing type . This means that when a
planar wave is incident on Nesa window films they would reflect back majority portion of the wave. However the
Nesa fabric is moderately absorbing type in low frequencies and reflecting type in higher frequency ranges.

Use of Nesa window films and as well as the fabric can effectively shield the electromagnetic radiation entering
the rooms windows and other openings.
