ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
A book is not written alone. In reality, it takes many people working as a team to produce a
book. To all the editors, proofreaders, and engravers, | owe you endless thanks. One person
who has worked on literally all of my publications is Nathaniel Gunod. I've learned so much
from working with him over the years. Nat has been an editor, friend, philosopher, and teacher
to me for more years than | can even count. He has been instrumental in the success of my
books and videos.
Ihave been unbelievably fortunate to have studied with some of the finest players on the planet,
and I thank my parents for making that happen. They went way beyond what anyone could have
wanted, always encouraging me and helping me to believe in myself. | miss them both.
Thave been fortunate to have worked with countless world-class musicians who showed me
the ropes and inspired me endlessly.
To every single student | have ever had: I know you won't believe me, but | leaned the most
from working with you.
To my family: | don't know how you've done it. How do you live with someone who has been
‘80 completely dedicated to music, the guitar, and the music business? I've probably driven you
‘orazy many times, but without your love and support, | could never have had the success | have
experienced. You have shown endless support and patience over many, many years. Thank
you, Julie and Josh—I love you both,
