The economic activities are summarized to the artisanal, fishing of species such as bonito, suckers, tramboyos, mojarras, tollos, pejerreyes, etc., as well as molluscs and crustaceans: octopus, squid, pots, shells, clams, choros, crabs, etc. The presence of the 2nd largest Cementery in the country: CP Cementos Pacasmayo S.A. contribute to the economic movement of the population in general, not only of the Province but of much of northern Peru. The Agroindustry is taking a lot of time in the occupation of arid zones and eriazas gradually transforming them into rich and productive lands.

attractions are: El Malecon Grau, El Muelle de Pacasmayo, The Old Railway Station and El Faro beach has become the main attraction for those who seek to practice sports in the sea.
