Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Mrs. Leslie Ferr, and I will be working with and learning from Mrs. Vandivort as a student teacher
this fall (August 30th December 8th). I am really looking forward to getting to know the students and I would
like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.

I am currently completing my certification for teaching Middle and High School Science. Education is a second
career for me; the first was working as a consulting geological engineer. I am back at school after staying home
to raise two boys, now aged 14 and 12. For the past seven years, I have been teaching at a preschool where I
created a STEAM program for students aged two through five. I have also been volunteering at my boys
schools for over ten years. I did all of this because I am passionate about empowering the natural scientist in all
students and I feel so fortunate to be taking this next step in my education at La Cima.
