Dear Mrs. Oberg,

Concerning the question of whether or not AMES is preparing us for college my opinion is that it is, at

least more than a lot of other high schools. I believe AMES is on of the best schools you could go to to

prepare for college. The courses are designed to challenge the students, just like college courses. We

can actually take college courses with actual professors and that prepares us very much. I believe that

there may be some things that we arent being taught about college, but those are things that really

should be learned in the experience of college. We are taught to analyze texts at AMES, we actually

analyze college-level texts which most schools dont do so the students arent prepared for it. We are

also offered college and more challenging math classes, which is another thing that students arent

usually prepared for. The only thing really different about AMES that wont prepare us for college is that

the teachers here actually care about the student, while in college the classes are so big that you dont

get that connection. So all of this being said I believe that curriculum wise, AMES is preparing us for

college.
