To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to express my interest in obtaining a position as a registered nurse on a Pediatric,

Mom/Baby, or Labor and Delivery Unit. I am currently a fourth semester nursing student at the
University of Arizona and I will be graduating in December of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science
in Nursing.

Throughout all of nursing school I have wanted to work in Womens Health or Pediatrics. These
are the areas I have enjoyed the most during my clinical rotations. During my studies and these
rotations, I have gained knowledge, experience, and skills. My natural compassion and
motivation have helped me by successful in the clinical environment. I have a desire to learn and
I enjoy challenging myself.

The coordinator of the Steele Innovative Learning Center lab where I volunteered at the College
of Nursing commended me on my positive attitude.

I work very well in teams and am able to step into the role of leader. For example, I have taken
on the leadership role in class group projects, assigning duties to myself and to other team
members to successfully complete the project.

I strive for excellence and work hard to improve my skills every day.

I love working with children and pediatrics is one of my passions. I know how it feels to be a
child admitted to a hospital and how scary it can be. I know my experience will help me care for
children and calm their nerves during this tough time.

For five weeks of this semester I was doing my preceptorship at St. Josephs Hospital on the
Couplet Care Unit. I worked three, twelve-hour shifts a week with a preceptor. During this time I
managed complete care for three couplets, or six patients. Throughout this experience I have
greatly improved my time management and organizational skills.

I am confident my training, experience, skills in organization, leadership and clinical and ability
to adapt will allow me to be a perfect fit on any team. I enjoy meeting new people and learning
new things and I am excited to begin this new journey.
