My most successful images that I have taken are the ones where the car lights are
smoothest and most visible, this makes the photograph look more seamless. The formal
elements within my images are focusing on light, the way car lights leave a trail of light
behind them. Due to my photographs being timelapses of the road I needed to use a
slow shutter speed ranging from 5-30 seconds, this would also need a large aperture to
allow more light into the camera. Instead of using a set shutter speed I used the setting
BULB where I can choose the amount of time I want my shutter speed to be. I uses a
cable release to time when i wanted the camera to take the photograph, this really
helped me time when the cars entered and exited frame. This is very important for my
photographs as i can control the amount of cars that come into shot and it also allows
me to get an equal amount going both ways on the road.
