SURFACE DEFECTS

Loss of surfacing materials, loss of surface micro and macro textures causing the
surface defects that may lead to subsequent loss of pavement structural integrity if it is not
corrected. The serviceability and safety of a pavement are influenced especially skid
resistance, manoeuvrability and riding quality if the pavement structural inadequacy did not
indicate properly. Bleeding is one of the major types of surface defects besides ravelling,
polishing and delamination that occur in the surface road pavements.
