What is a
city? What is the delineation between urban and rural? It can be defined on the
basis of Population, Density, and Heterogeneity. How one experiences being in a
city? City living is not the same as living elsewhere. The author tell us city
living promote individualism, anonymity and superficiality. The term urbanism has
interrelated perspectives of a physical structure, system of social organisation
and attitudes and ideas. In the city living the individual has less connections and
interactions and if any occurs it is with the people of similar interest. There are
spatial segregation occurring to this as well as variation and heterogeneity.

confined to an area as a settlement focused on self-interests, with specialisation
leading to segregation with palpable income groups.
