The difference between
. Psimeni & Rakomelo
Psimeni is a kind of Rakomelo !
The name comes from the traditional
concoction made in Amorgos and from
& & the drink made of raki and sugar they
used as the official treat at the Monas-
. tery of Panagia Hozoviotissa. The drink
, , , we produced, Psimeni, contains sugar
and honey making its taste almost
(vol. identical to the taste of rakomelo with
20%) the difference that it has a lower ABV
(20%), it is sweeter and mostly prefered
. by women and young people who pre-
, , fer liqueurs. The Amorgion rakomelo
contains ONLY honey, no sugar, has a
(25%) slightly higher ABV (25%) and is usu-
ally preferred by men and women who
like stronger drinks
, In short, Psimeni is for women and ra-
komelo for men..

Fragosikomelo
For the fans of lighter drinks, and not hard drinks such as
the Mekila, we produced a liqueur called Fragosikom-
elo which consists of the distillate of prickly grapes, honey,
sugar, herbs and has a 20% ABV. It can be served either at
room temperature or frozen and can be accompanied by fresh
or dried fruit with honey, sprinkled with cinnamon and nuts.
A Amorgian Mekila
made of prickly pears
, Our drink is produced by the prickly pears, which
are the wild fruits of the cactus prickly pear,
, that grows on the island of Amorgos. The prickly
. pear has its origins in Mexico City and came in
, Europe from Spanish sailors the year 1500 A.C.
from where it spread rapidly in the countries of
1500 .., the Mediterranean. This wild but also rich in
. taste and aromas fruit, was our inspiration, so
we produced the Amorgian Mekila that excites
, everyone who tastes it for its exotic taste!

The history of ouzo
From back in the day the Greeks produced ouzo from dis-
tilled grapes, adding anise, fennel and other herbs, that
thrive in each area, to the second distillation. However, in
recent years ouzo is made from the distillate of molasses
or agricultural alcohol. Reviving the old recipe, we pro-
duce ouzo using grapes as the raw material, a result that
never seizes to impress for its quality and unique flavour.
, Tsipouro (distilled grape marc) Mera-
. , ki is for the traditional people. It has
a strong, authentic and, above all,
. a good quality taste. It is created for
those who know how to pick their drinks
. and who seek the original flavour of a
well-known tsipouro.

Melikraton Mulse
(Honey mixed with wine)
. Sit back after a long, hard day with a glass of
Melikraton mulse. When the ancient Greeks
returned home after a long day of hard work or
even war it was a tradition for their wives to of-
, . fer them a drink of wine, honey and herbs.
It is our ancestors tradition that inspired us to
produce the Melikraton mulse. It is an ideal
. drink made of grapes, sun-dried Muscat, dis-
, ,
tilled grape marc and herbs; it will lift you up.
, .
- It is a very nice drink and its unique flavour will
! impress whoever tries it!

What the major newspapers wrote about
the Amorgion Rakomelo.
& The Amorgion Rakomelo & the distiller, Antonis Vekris, have
. occupied the media several times. The innovative ideas, the
, , & optimistic attitude towards life, the artistry, the love for the job and
, especially the purity of the products in a time where everything is
, hastily done, is what we love the most.
