The story of our drinks...

Inspirated by an ancient Amorgian remedy we created the Amorgion rakomelo. It was
a concoction of raki, sugar, cinnamon and cloves used to soothe a sore throat. Its con-
sidered godsent as it was the official treat in the Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa
in Amorgos. Thyme honey and eight herbs, which thrive in Amorgos, have been added
to this drink to create the Amorgion rakomelo, maintaining the islands aroma and
the habits of our ancestors. All of our beverages are prepared using pure traditional
ingredients and no preservatives are added. They can be served with nuts and fruits as
an aperitif or digestive.

Rakomelo Deluxe
For the fans of rakomelo who seek something stron-
ger we have prepared Amorgion Deluxe which con-
sists of a 30% ABV (alcohol by volume). It is the ex-
act same quality and is 100% Greek.
We may also refer to it as Whiskato; add a couple
of ice cubes to it and its as equally good as any
imported whisky.

Psimeni is a kind of Rakomelo !
The name comes from the traditional
concoction made in Amorgos and from

used as the official treat at the Monas-

and honey making its taste almost
(vol. identical to the taste of rakomelo with
20%) the difference that it has a lower ABV
(20%), it is sweeter and mostly prefered

, , fer liqueurs. The Amorgion rakomelo
contains ONLY honey, no sugar, has a
(25%) slightly higher ABV (25%) and is usu-
ally preferred by men and women who
like stronger drinks

Fragosikomelo
For the fans of lighter drinks, and not hard drinks such as
the Mekila, we produced a liqueur called Fragosikom-
elo which consists of the distillate of prickly grapes, honey,
sugar, herbs and has a 20% ABV. It can be served either at
room temperature or frozen and can be accompanied by fresh
or dried fruit with honey, sprinkled with cinnamon and nuts.

It is a wonderful aperitif - digestive that will delight anyone who

tries it!

A Amorgian Mekila
made of prickly pears

, Our drink is produced by the prickly pears, which
are the wild fruits of the cactus prickly pear,
, that grows on the island of Amorgos. The prickly
. pear has its origins in Mexico City and came in
, Europe from Spanish sailors the year 1500 A.C.
from where it spread rapidly in the countries of
1500 .., the Mediterranean. This wild but also rich in
. taste and aromas fruit, was our inspiration, so
we produced the Amorgian Mekila that excites

The history of ouzo
From back in the day the Greeks produced ouzo from dis-
tilled grapes, adding anise, fennel and other herbs, that
thrive in each area, to the second distillation. However, in
recent years ouzo is made from the distillate of molasses
or agricultural alcohol. Reviving the old recipe, we pro-
duce ouzo using grapes as the raw material, a result that
never seizes to impress for its quality and unique flavour.
