Irena Grieg Cardiophonia For Piano Solo In Memoriam Andrey Danchenko 1993 Fondation Mri pour t partenariat Irena Grieg Cardiophonia Cardiophonia is a graphic score, for Piano Solo, and is intended to be the musical equivalent of a clinical graph. It uses some unique notational conventions, which are explained below. Tempo. Put your hand on your heart and listen to its speed. Each vertical line (bar) in the score corresponds to one heartbeat. Normally, this tempo is two bars per second, but some flexibility will be helpful and desirable. Tremolo. The major proportion of the music is to be performed Sempre Tremolando“. The parts of right and left hands are both indicated by separate horizontal lines. Dynamics are contralled by distance from the horizontal axis (dotted line), that is to say, the greater the distance from the central dotted line, the louder the music (R.H. crescendos up, L.H. — down). Clets, Treble clef controls the space above the horizontal axcis, and Bass clef below. Broken Lines indicate pauses as the hands move to a different register. Sustaining Pedal must be used throughout. Irena Grieg. Leeds, 11 October 1993
