Procedure
Note: The label [#PB] means you have to provide a Photo Booth picture as evidence of
using precision in measurement, by selecting the correct graduated cylinder to use. The
picture must be a high quality image that shows enough detail to identify the selected tool.
Each PB image needs to be inserted directly under the data table at the top in the
placeholder section labeled Precision in Measurement Evidence.
1. Using the tape and sharpie provided, label the six test tubes in order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6,
and place each one back into the test tube holder.
Note: The test tubes should only be in the rack or in a group members hand at all times
during the lab.
3. Place the 600 mL beaker to the side as it will be used for the contaminated water.
4. Measure 26 mL [#4PB] of RED liquid and pour it into the test tube labeled 1.
5. Measure 17.2 mL [#5PB] of YELLOW liquid and pour it into the test tube labeled 3.
6. Measure 21 mL of BLUE liquid and pour it into the test tube labeled 5.
7. From test tube 3, measure 4.3 mL [#7PB], and pour it into test tube 4.
8. From test tube 5, measure 7 mL, and pour it into test tube 4. Swirl the test tube.
9. From test tube 5, measure 4 mL, and pour it into test tube 6.
10. From test tube 1, measure 7 mL, and pour it into test tube 6. Swirl the test tube.
11. From test tube 1, measure 8 mL, and pour it into test tube 2.
12. From test tube 3, measure 3.5 mL, and pour it into test tube 2. Swirl the test tube.
13. Type in the final color for each test tube, 1 6, in each test tubes corresponding place
in the groups data table.
14. Measure the final amount of liquid for each test tube, 1 6, and record the final
amount in each test tubes corresponding place in the groups data table.
15. Add up and record the final amount of total liquid in test tubes, 1-6 in the last section on
the groups data table.
16. As a group hold up all of the test tubes, 1 - 6, in order, and take a group photo with all
members included. The group photo needs to be inserted directly under the Precision in
Measurement Evidence at the top in the placeholder section labeled Group Photo with
Final Results.
