Speedball Day 7 B Week
Speedball Day 7 B Week
Special Considerations What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
1. Ensure that all students are safe by setting boundaries for the activity and coning
off any hazardous objects outside of the boundaries so students know to watch
out for it.
2. Ensure that students know that speedball is a non contact sport and anyone that
contacts another player on purpose will be given a penalty or sat out.
RULES OF SPEEDBALL:
- Two teams play each
other at a time. The
teams will be split evenly
and if there is more than
two teams made, the
other team will stay on
the side to wait their turn.
- The game will start with a
tip off. Two players from
opposing teams will line
up at half court and get
ready to jump and tip the
ball back to their
teammates.
- When the ball is caught
and in someones hands,
basic handball rules will
be in place; When you
have the ball you cannot
move, you must make
three passes before
attempting to score in any
way.
- One rule that changes is
once the ball hits the
ground, the game turns
into soccer and students
may only use their feet.
The three passes rule still
applies no matter if you
are passing with your feet
or passing with your
hands.
- The way to change the
game back to using your
hands instead of your
feet is if a teammate lifts
the ball up and another
teammate catches the
ball or if someone simply
kicks the ball up with their
feet to their hands.

equipment to the bag and have
them stay for a quick closure.
