Teachers Performance Objectives During the lesson the teacher will:
1. Make sure to give feedback to both teams on how they can be more successful on
offense with hints to new strategies during gameplay.
2. Make sure to always keep the back to the wall and scan the class to make sure all
students are on task and promoting good behavior.

Special Considerations What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
1. Ensure that all students understand the safety protocol of the unit because the
students will have equipment that is very dangerous in their hands throughout the
entire unit.

TIME SEQUENCE OF LESSON ORGANIZATION REFLECTION

0-3 min Locker Rooms: Students will go SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

order for attendance.

3-4 min Transition: After attendance, the


students will move into their
warm up.

4-6 min Warm Up:

- Students will be split into
4-6 teams.
- Each team will have a
goal and one floor hockey
stick for the entire team. _______________________
- There will be floor hockey
pucks & balls put in the T
center of the court.
- Students will line up in a

their goal.
- The first person in line
will have a floor hockey
stick.
- When Mr.G blows his
whistle, the first person
up will jog over to the
middle and take one of
the pucks or balls and
dribble it to his or her
goal and shoot it into their
goal.
- Once the student scores
the puck/ball into their
goal, they hand their floor
hockey stick to the next
person.
- After the first initial score
for each team, the next
person can either make
the decision to take the
puck/ball from the middle
or another teams goal.
- Students will have 2
minutes to see how many
pucks/balls they can get
into their goal.

7-10 min Introduction:


- Focus of the day: Review
of Skills, Gameplay
- Start and Stop Signals:
Start signal will be ready
go and the Stop signal
will be 2 whistles.
- Safety: Stay inside the
boundaries during the
class period and listen to
the teachers instructions.
- SAFETY PROTOCOL:
- For the entire unit,
students will be expected
to respect the protocol as
well as follow the rules
placed at the start of the
unit.
- Students are given a
hockey stick every day of
the unit. Students WILL
NOT use this stick as a
weapon at anytime
throughout the unit and
will not raise the stick
EVER past the waist.
- There will be NO SLAP
SHOTS.
- When a student gets into
gameplay, he or she
MUST WEAR goggles as
a safety precaution so no
student will be put in any
danger of getting poked
or hit in the eyes.
- Due to limits in goggles,
students will be put on
the sidelines for
gameplay. Those
students may either get a
drink or stand on the
sidelines and watch his or
her classmates play until
it is their turn to get into
the game.
- Floor Hockey will have
NO CHECKING at any
time and there will be no
body contact at all
allowed ever.

12-13 WRIST SHOT CUES:

- Have the puck/ball on
your side with it ready on
your blade.
- Put a little more effort on
the puck and guide the
puck to your target.

Transition: Mr.G will combine


groups to make 2-3 different
teams for a full court game.
Students will use the same rules
they have been using for floor
hockey games, now the court
size is regulation and the goal
size is regulation.

FLOOR HOCKEY BASIC


RULES:
RULES OF NOODLE HOCKEY:
- Two teams of 5-7 players
will play against each (Organization for both
other. activities attached)
- The Game will start with
a faceoff, students will
tap their hockey sticks
together 3 times then go
after the ball.
- Students must hold onto
the hockey stick with both
hands, never just one.
- Keep the swinging of the
hockey stick BELOW the
waist.
- Anyone who puts another
student in a dangerous
situation will be penalized
and sat in the box for 2
minutes. Second penalty
sit out for the rest of
class.
- Students are not allowed
to kick the puck/ball
intentionally or to kick the
puck/ball into the goal on
purpose.
- Objective of the game is
to hit the puck/ball with
the hockey stick and get
it into the opposing
team's goal.
10-32 - When the puck/ball is hit
min into the air, a student
may catch the puck/ball
with his or her hand and
put it back on the ground
to continue play.
- If the puck/ball goes off
the court, the play will be
called dead and will
resume play by doing a
faceoff.

Floor Hockey Gameplay:


- The Basic Floor Hockey
Rules will be used during
gameplay, attached
above.
- Mr.G will act as a referee
and make the correct
calls of goals or rules that
need to be put in place.
- If there are more than two
teams made up, one
team will rotate in after a
certain amount of time or
when a team scores a
goal.
32-33
min Extension Up: Mr.G will take out
the regulation goals and
substitute them for smaller goals
to make all the shots have to be

puck/ball and replace it with a T
larger object that will be easier to
hit and control.

Transition:
Have the students bring in the
equipment back in and have
