Vulnerability and Partner Abuse

Who is most likely to be abused?

-Domestic abuse information shows that some races experience greater instances of violence
then others do. This illustrates disparities between certain aspects of intimate partner abuse
among different races. And includes socio-economic classes.

-For men in color, this includes:

*High rates of poverty

*Poor education

*Limited job resources

*Language barriers

*And fear of deportation

All of these make it hard to find help and support services.

-Domestic abuse information indicates that African American males are more likely to
experience physical abuse, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, and economic abuse, than men of
other races and ethnicities.

-Men are more likely to be a victim of partner abuse in the South West (4.1%) than anywhere
else in the UK, with London and the South East being the lowest.
