P Activity This learning activity will teach students how to create an
e online presentation using google slides.
d -Students will be asked to read chapters 1 and 2 out of To kill
a a mockingbirdby Harper Lee for each chapter the students will
g work collectively to create a slide for their presentation.
o -The chapters could be read in class out loud or assigned for
g homework,
y -Once students complete the assigned chapters they can then
start their presentation. What is not finished in class will be
assigned for homework.
-The groups should consist of three for four students.
-Each student will then be assigned a role for the group
(leader/editor, recorder/secretary, chacker,spokesperson,
timekeeper, facilitator). Roles should change each week.
-The slide should include the chapter number, at least one
picture, the main idea (with details to support it), examples
from the text, citation, and the who, what, when, where, why,
and how.
-The next class students will briefly discuss chapters 1 and 2,
have a quick quiz, and then move to chapters 3 and 4.
-Once students have read and completed the book and
presentation, students will present their google slide to the
class.
-Students will be asked to take notes during the presentation,
and write down two interesting facts you may have missed
while reading the book (turn into teacher).

To create a google slide:


-Login in/create a google account (www.googlegmail.com)
-Click google slides (top right corner)
-Create new (one student from the group)
-Click share (add everyone in your group by entering their
emails)
-note: one the google slide is created students are able to all
word on the presentation together on their own devices.
- Google slides will save as you work.
Once completed send a final copy to your teacher.

Provide visuals via the board or overhead
