Womens soccer heads to NCAAs for the first time
SELINSGROVE, P.A.Susquehanna University Womens Soccer team has made it to the Division
III NCAA tournament for the first time in program history.
The team fell to Scranton in the Landmark Conference Championships 0-2 at a road game on
Saturday, but were still able to get an at-large bid.
The River Hawks will play Swarthmore University (14-3-2) at William Smith College in Geneva,
New York on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The womens team had one of the best seasons in school history with a 14-4-2 record. They are
now tied with the school record of 14 wins in a season, but holds the record for the most wins
in the conference with 5 wins.
Their opponent Swarthmore earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament because of
their win over Johns Hopkins during the Centennial Conference championship game. The game
ended in a tie of 2-2, but Swarthmore out shot Johns Hopkins in penalty kicks with a 3-1 win.
This will be Swarthmores fourth time to the NCAA Tournament, and have a 3-3-1 record within
the tournament.

For those who are able to attend tickets are $6 for general admission, $3 for senior citizens and
students, $2 for children ages 2-12, and free for children under 3 years old.
