iii. Dont be afraid of blogging WordPress Setup Mini-Workshop facilitated by


Megan
- Learning Outcome: Students will set up their WordPress blog according to
the principles of blog design. These pages will be crucial for housing
students weekly writing and the development their online communication
skills.
- Megan will be leading the class through a guided workshop on how to
create and navigate your own OpenEd WordPress page, as well as taking
questions about the process of blogging
- She will then be assigning the first blog prompt.

iv. What the heck is Creative Commons? facilitated by Megan


- Learning outcome: Students will learn how to respectfully acknowledge
the work of others and become more aware of the guidelines around
copyright and fair dealings. Further, students will be introduced to
available resources for open Creative Commons materials, and how to
license their own videos as such.
- Video: A Fair(y) Use Tale (Chapter 1) (Youtube video) into a discussion of
Fair use vs. Fair dealings
- Definitions of Copyrighted Work, Public Domain, and Creative Commons
- Different types of CC licences and what they mean
- How to find CC materials via search.creativecommons.org
